Clare 0-15 Dublin 0-15(2009 Allianz NHL)

Date: 5 Apr 2009

Venue: Parnell Park Dublin
Clare have been relegated from Division One of the national hurling league following a 0-15 apiece draw with Dublin at Parnell Park.

This is the Banner County's first point of the campaign and they are now hopelessly adrift at the foot of the table with one game remaining.

The draw is also of little comfort to the Sky Blues, as the dropped point leaves them out of the running for a place in the league final.

Dublin led by 0-2 to no score after eight minutes. Shane Durkin and Alan McCrabbe had those early scores for the Metropolitans.

McCrabbe (2), Caimin Morey and Jonathan Clancy all notched a brace each as Clare led by 0-7 to 0-4 at the end of the first quarter.

At one stage, Clare hit 0-5 without reply but seven scores from McCrabbe had the Sky Blues still in it, trailing by 0-10 to 0-8 at the break.

McCrabbe, Niall Gilligan and Durkin had further scores on the board and Clare led by two points again when Gilligan clipped over a sideline cut - 0-12 to 0-10.

With seven minutes left, it was 0-14 to 0-13 as the Dubs came with a run of three success points. David O'Callaghan, McCrabbe and John McCaffrey had all been on target for the Anthony-Daly-managed side as they closed within a single point.

David O'Callaghan tied the scores up on 68 minutes. Patrick Donnellan restored the Banner's advantage but Dublin captain Stephen Hiney landed an injury-time beauty from the middle of the pitch to ensure the Metropolitans of a share of the spoils.
